Who is Sasha?

Sasha was a Shepherd/Rottweiler cross who was born in New Zealand and came to Australia in 1996 with the Bright family.

She was a fabulous and much adored family pet who loved to run and swim. In her early years she loved to pick up stones - over time the habit changed to pine cones!

Sasha would run with her owner, Dan Bright, most days. At the age of 11 she started to pull up lame. On consultation with the vet, it appeared NSAID’s were the only option in terms of providing relief to arthritic symptoms. The Brights were not satisfied with this option and decided to develop their own natural  clinically proven formulation, hence the development of Sashas Blend™.

Sashas Blend™ gave Sasha her quality of life back, she was free to run and swim without pain and she continued to live a good life to the grand age of 18 - an incredible age considering her breed type, and a wonderful testament to the effects of Sashas Blend™ on longevity.

Although Sasha is no longer with us, it is the memories of Sasha and her inspiration in developing this wonderful product that has helped so many other animals, that we will always treasure.

Below is a poem sent to us when she passed on, which gave us great solace and comfort, and we would like to share with you. Although the author is unknown to us, we would like to express our gratitude for the words and sentiment it contains:

IF IT SHOULD BE

If it should be I grow frail and weak
And pain should wake me from sleep
Then you must do what must be done
For this last battle can't be won

You will be sad - I understand
Don't let your grief then stay your hand
For this day, more than the rest
Your love and friendship stand the test

We've had so many happy years
What is to come will hold no fears
You'd not want me to suffer, so
When the time comes - please let me go

Take me where my needs they'll tend
Only stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see

I know in time you too will see
It is a kindness you do me
Although my tail it's last has waved
From pain and suffering I've been saved

Do not grieve that it should be you
Who has to decide this thing to do
We've been so close - we two - these years
Don't let your heart hold any tears.
